M/V Viking Star is the lead ship of the multi-award winning Viking Star-class of cruise ships and the first such ship operated by Viking Ocean Cruises. Ultimately ten vessels of this type are planned to be built.

Clifford Denn Design was the exterior design consultant to Viking, managing the exterior styling aspects, working closely with the Viking design offices in London and SMC Design who were responsible for many of the interior areas.
